Can you get an iPad For A Dollar?
As Seen on TV and Heard On The Radio
Can you really get an ipad for a dollar? What do you think? The Apple iPad is a tablet sized computer with a touch screen interface and a great set of apps that are similar to (or the same as) the apps you would get for the Apple iPod or iPod Touch, or iPhone. Lately, there has been an offer on the radio and on the internet leading people to believe that they can get an iPad for a dollar. If you remember some similar offers from a few years ago, then you remember the “free iPod” offers that were advertised everywhere.
The problem with these offers is that you usually have to jump through so many hoops that you never get the one dollar iPad or anything but aggravation. You often have to sign up, refer friends, and get them to review other offers. You may have to sign up for free trials that also include a monthly charge later. Offers for free iPads and other goodies (like a free Xbox, PS3, or other system) rarely actually send these items out to anyone, but they are a marketer’s dream, because they collect a lot of personal information that can then be used for “opt-in” email marketing, which you’ve opted into by virtue of signing away your privacy rights. Nobody gets rich giving away an ipad for a dollar while advertising it on TV and radio, so what usually happens is that they don’t give away many ipads and you end up with a lot of spam emails and solicitations for ringtones and other things you may not be interested in.
